Opening Day Highlights at the Steuben County 4-H

Grace Emberton as Miss Steuben County 2021

CROOKED LAKE, IN - The Steuben County 4H fair got underway on Friday as animals moved in for their weeklong stay.

Harper Henney was named the 2021 Steuben County 4-H Fair Achievement Winner on Friday night during opening ceremonies at the fairs. She has been Supreme Showman twice at the fair, and took the Achievement Winner honor as a nine-year 4-H’er.

Harper is the daughter of Mark and Melissa Henney and is a member of the Otsego Go-Getters 4-H club. She will be a senior at Angola High School this fall.

Her projects have included beef, beef feeder, sheep, junior leaders and scrapbooking.

She will not be eligible for the honor next year in her 10th and final year.

Also during opening ceremonies was the Miss Steuben County contest. Miss Steuben County 2019 Abby Stoy crowned Grace Emberton as Miss Steuben County 2021.

Emberton is a graduate of Angola High School and attends the University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne. She is the 20 year old daughter of William and Teri Emberton. Her future plans include enlisting in the Air Force Reserves, complete basic training and tech school, and obtain a nursing degree.

Alexis Treesh (Trish) won the title of Miss congeniality.

Lydia Wilhelm and Rogan Feller won the title of Little Miss and Little Mister at the Steuben County 4-H Fair.
