Three People Injured in Monday Crash

BRANCH COUNTY, MI – Three people suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon after a two vehicle collision.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened at about 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of Fremont and Copeland Roads in California Township.

Investigators say an east bound vehicle driven by 27-year-old Jay Phillip Michael of Kendallville, Indiana failed to yield for a stop sign at the intersection. He was struck by a north bound vehicle driven by 86-year-old Norbert Kunk of Coldwater.

The two drivers along with a passenger in the Kunk vehicle, 86-year-old Martha Jean Kunk of Coldwater, were all taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

Michael was cited for disregarding the stop sign.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by Life-Care Ambulance and the Fremont Fire Department.
