Rain washed out a military parade to honor Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, but the governor still got a tour of Howe Military Academy on Friday. Following the tour, Holcomb answered questions from the Cadets – including one about how is Naval experience shaped his life.

Holcomb announced Friday morning that 22 companies announced plans to locate or expand in Indiana creating up to 1,090 new jobs in the next few years. Five were in Elkhart County, one in Noble County and one in Steuben County.

Cardinal IG in Fremont was the Steuben County company with plans to expand, with 45 jobs. They are committing to invest $154
million in the Hoosier state.

While at Trine University Friday night Governor Holcomb had a surprise for Trine University President Dr. Earl Brooks. Brooks was surprised with the Sagamore of the Wabash award by Holcomb.

Earlier in the evening, Brooks and the university surprised Holcomb with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letter degree.
