BUTLER – Eastside high school made a special new class available to it’s students this year, with eight boys and two girls now being immersed to the new “Military Preparation Class”.

Each student will earn one physical education credit along with one social studies credit by completing the year-long class. Throughout the course, some examples of activities the students endure include participating in exercises using 35-pound sandbags and running sprints and laps around the school’s track.

The class also coaches the students to discover other opportunities outside of high school such as paying for college, experiencing military life, or building good job skills.
