INDOT says multiple improvements are planned on U.S. 20, between Townline Road and Railroad Street in the Town of LaGrange, beginning on or after Monday, Aug. 6.
Work on the project includes the total removal of pavement from the lanes and shoulders, followed by the placement of new pavement from just west of Townline Road to Vine Street.
Brooks Construction will close U.S. 20 to through-traffic between Townline Road to Vine Street. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the work.
During the closure additional upgrades are planned, including: A small curve correction between Townline Road and Sherman Street so that the road better aligns with the rest of U.S. 20. Left turn lanes will be added to U.S. 20 at Townline Road, along with the installation of a traffic signal.
Motorists may also experience lane restrictions and traffic directed by flaggers as contractors complete an asphalt resurface between Vine and Railroad streets.
The official detour for the closure on U.S. 20 will be S.R. 9 to U.S. 6 to S.R. 5 and work on the project is expected to continue through late November, weather permitting.
