The the first county-level unemployment figures for Northwest Ohio Jobs of this year are in.
Williams County’s rose from 3.2 in November to 3.8 percent in December and then to 4.3 percent in January. Defiance County’s rate for January was 5.1 percent, up from 4.7 percent in December.
Henry County was at 6.9 percent, the highest in the region.
Fulton County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for January 2019 was 6 percent, up from 4.9 percent in December.
Specifically in Williams County (Ohio), the close of 2018 saw tens of millions of dollars invested in the creation of hundreds of jobs. According to Matt Davis, executive director of the Williams County Economic Development Corporation, in total, $119.4 million was invested on seven development projects that promise the creation of 400 new jobs in Williams County alone.
