INDIANAPOLIS – Locally unemployment rates went up in January.
The Department of Workforce Development released figures by county on Tuesday.
Steuben County went from 2.7 to 3.4 percent, while LaGrange County went from 2.6 percent in December to 3.7 percent in January.
DeKalb County rose from 2.7 to 3.4 percent.
Elkhart County went from 2.9 to 3.7 percent. Noble County from 2.9 to 4.2 percent.
Gibson and Dubois Counties in southern Indiana had the lowest jobless rates at 3.0 percent.
