Another legal suit has been filed involving a 2017 Lake Gage boating accident that received national attention.
Mycase.com shows a second civil suit was filed against Dominique Effinger and her parents, Donald and Lisa Effinger. The suit was filed on December 3, 2018, and charges that Taylor Bolin of Noblesville suffered a head wound, traumatic brain injury, and right forearm and shoulder injuries that nearly resulted in amputation of the arm from boating accident that occured on Lake Gage July 15, 2017.
Dominique Effinger was the driver of the boat in the wreck. The suit alleges that Donald and Lisa Effinger provided their underage daughter alcohol throughout the day. It also alleges that alcohol was provided to the guests, including Bolin, who like Dominique was only 20 years old at the time.
Dominique Effinger has already been sentenced to 1 ½ years with one year suspended and 6 months on probation in a plea deal that was accepted back in August of 2018. She served 180 days on home detention in Monroe County.
At that time of the August sentencing, Effinger and her family paid $110,763 through insurance as restitution to the victims.
The status of the suit Taylor Bolin v. Dominique Effinger, Donald Effinger, Lisa Effinger is still pending.
