Jobless Rates Move Up From January To February In Northeast Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Jobless rates went up around Northeast Indiana from January to February.

According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Steuben County grew from 1.7 to 1.9 percent.

LaGrange County saw their jobless rate go up from 1.4 to 1.6 percent, which is still the lowest unemployment rate in Indiana for the month of February.

DeKalb County went from 1.8 to an even 2 percent, while Noble County had the largest growth from 2.1 to 2.4 percent.

Elkhart County saw an increase from 1.6 to 1.7 percent.

The highest unemployment rate was in Lake County, which went from 4.2 to an even 5 percent in February.

Statewide, the unemployment rate rose from 2.4 to 2.7 percent.
