Authorities in LaGrange Ring in the New Year with Meth Arrest

LAGRANGE, IN - Authorities in LaGrange rang in the new year with a meth arrest.

Just after 11 a.m. on Friday an officer with the LaGrange Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Detroit Street near the intersection of Factory Street, in LaGrange. During the course of the investigation, the officer observed criminal indicators and requested LaGrange Police K9 Dax and his handler to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle.

K9 Dax indicated to the odor of narcotics, giving Officer's Probable Cause to search the vehicle. During the search, Officer's located approximately 65 grams of Methamphetamine, and 30 Hypodermic needles along with drug paraphernalia.

The subject involved was identified Jonathon Earl Collins, age 41 of Sturgis, MI. Collins was transported to the LaGrange County Jail and charged with multiple drug related charges.

Charges include the following:

Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony)
Possession of Hypodermic Needles (Level 6 Felony)
Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor)
