Local area fire officials say March was an unusually busy month for firefighters.
Quincy Fire Chief Sherman wrote on facebook-- the department had 27 total incidents.
He wrote 9 of those were working building fires-- and 8 brush or field fires.
In the QFD Fire District-- the chief reports the building fires were accidental.
Chief Sherman also dispelled rumors about an arsonist in the community-- writing those rumors are simply not true.
All of the incidents in March-- the chief says-- added up to more than 360 hours of training for the month.
