NOBLE TOWNSHIP – A Sunday afternoon fire in Southwest Branch County took the lives of two dogs and damaged two vehicles.

The Bronson Fire Department was called to 1020 Gunthorpe Road in Noble Township at 2:15 PM Sunday where they found a 40 foot 5th wheel camper and a 1998 Jeep in flames. It took firefighters a short time to put out the fires. They remained on scene for an hour and 15 minutes.

Two dogs were in the camper and did not survive. Firefighters were told the owner of the unit was living in it, but was not home when the fire started. Damage estimates are $7,500 for the camper and $3,400 for the Jeep. No cause for the fire has been determined, but the investigation is continuing.

Assisting Bronson firefighters were the Branch County Sheriff's Department and Life Care Ambulance.
