COLDWATER – Michigan State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Branch County Jail.
In a media release, MSP say they were contacted by Branch County Sheriff John Pollack regarding the incident, which happened November 18. Pollack notified the Branch County Commission of the inmate death and investigation during their meeting on Tuesday.
State Police investigators say they are working with the Sheriff's Department. The name of the victim has not been released, but Pollack did say the individual was a relative of a volunteer from the Branch County Victim Service Unit.
