MSD board Continues to Clash with Superintendent Wilson
By: Colin Meadowcroft - Wednesday, November 18, 2020

The MSD board of school trustees gathered on Tuesday evening and voted on the renewal of Superintendent Wilson’s contract.

The Board of Trustees voted on the renewal of Superintendent Dr. Wilson’s contract, which is set to expire on June 30. A trial on the matter is currently before the courts and will take place in the early months of 2021.

The board voted not to renew Dr. Wilson’s contract. There was also some contention between board members and Superintendent Wilson over classified staff compensation and whether pay increase decisions should be made by the board or by the superintendent. Wilson defended that classified staff wages based on performance and base pay have been determined by the superintendent for more than twenty years and challenged the board to point to a specific board policy that was violated, while board members pointed to lack of communication from Dr. Wilson.

The MSD Board of School Trustees will gather next month on December 15 at 7:30pm at the MSD Central Gymnasium.
