A new name name has been tossed into the ring in the race for DeKalb County Commissioner within the Northeast District.
Kevin Heller of Auburn registered Tuesday as a Democratic candidate as the 54-year-old will take on Republican nominee Todd Sanderson, also of Auburn in this coming November's General Election.
Due to Heller not registering before the primary, he was nominated for the position by the DeKalb County Democratic Chair, Suzanne Davis and also becomes the first Democratic candidate for a county office in the fall election.
