Kendallville Man Arraigned On Stolen Vehicle Charges

A Kendallville, Indiana man was arraigned on four counts of receiving and concealing stolen motor vehicles on Friday in Branch County District Court.

Following a Michigan State Police investigation, 21-year-old Justin Jay Easterday was ordered to be held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing on June 30th with a preliminary exam on July 7th.

According to court documents in the case, Easterday was allegedly involved with several others in a stolen vehicle ring in 2019 which officials believe coincide with the numerous stolen vehicles reported in Branch and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan, and up to 35 complaints of stolen vehicles in Steuben County between June and October.

The Michigan State Police were assisted in their investigation by Sheriff’s Departments in Branch, Steuben and LaGrange Counties.
