Noble County Baby COVID-19 Positive, Linked to Daycare in Auburn

An infant from Noble County has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been connected to an Auburn daycare, according to the Noble County Health Department.

According to DeKalb County Health officials, the investigation surrounding the case has focused on the YMCA of DeKalb County’s Early Learning Center. According to the YMCA of DeKalb County’s facebook page, the Early Learning Building has been closed until at least June 16th after two people with connections to the facility tested positive.

In an update from DeKalb County Tuesday, five new cases were confirmed but the ages ranged from 26-57, where the county’s positive test rate is about half of the state’s average.

In a separate case, Noble County has seen its first COVID-19 death not associated with a long-term care facility, as well as confirming on Tuesday that another person has died who had been in one of the facilities where an outbreak of the virus was already known.
