Indiana County Unemployment Rates Released For April

After statewide unemployment rates for Indiana were released last week for the month of April, the breakdown by county was released on Tuesday with numbers that are alarming compared to where they were prior to the various shutdowns for COVID-19.

Northeast Indiana in general was hit much hardert with the shutdowns compared to the rest of the state as Steuben County now has an unemployment rate of 19.8 percent, however that is not as severe as LaGrange County which has a rate of 28.8 percent, Noble County with 28.7 percent, and even DeKalb County with a rate of 21.7 percent.

The state of Indiana as a whole averaged 17.1 percent for unemployment in the month of April.
