Monday, March 16, 2020

Trine University hosted its first Parking Ticket Amnesty back on Wednesday, March 11th in which Michael O’Beirne, assistant director of Trine Campus Safety, stood with canned goods and pet food items donated during that day, in which students were allowed to have up to two parking citations dismissed, except for handicapped parking or fire lane violations, if they brought in either a bag of non-perishable food items of pet supplies for each citation they wanted dismissed.

Overall, fifty-three students took advantage of the program, donating more than 60 bags of supplies. Campus Safety officers transported the food items to Project Help of Steuben County and the pet items to the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County.
