Major Drug Bust Thursday In DeKalb County

On Thursday afternoon, officers with the Auburn Police Department assisted the US Marshal Task Force out of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Grand Rapids, Michigan to execute a warrant for a Waterloo man.

Jeromy D. Hurd. Hurd, age 30, was being sought on an active Michigan warrant for absconding on a parole violation. Hurd was located in the 300 block of South Walsh St in Garrett, IN. During the investigation officers were given consent to search the residence which resulted in the location of: a stolen handgun, six pounds of Marijuana, 82 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 25 Morphine Pills, 24 Hydrocodone Pills, as well as several other pieces of paraphernalia.

Hurd was incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail on the warrant and numerous other charges related to the drugs and firearm are pending.

Members of the Garrett Police Department also assisted with the investigation.
