A missing inmate from the Noble County Jail was located and returned to custody early Monday morning, according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a work release offender who failed to show up at his scheduled time.

34-year-old Joseph Stevens failed to return to lawful detention after being out on a pass after he left at around 11:42 a.m. on Saturday, to a residence in Avilla. Stevens was scheduled to report back around 4 p.m. that same day.

Authorities said formal charges are expected to be filed against the inmate Stevens on Monday morning.
