Christmas Eve church service for many is a special night, as within the Christian community its one of the holiest times of the year and tonight there are plenty of places of worship across the area.

In Garrett, First Baptist Church will hold a candlelight service at 7 p.m. and in Ashley, Pleasant Chapel Church of the Brethren will hold a candlelight service at 6 p.m.

In LaGrange, Mt. Zion Lutheran will hold services at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., with 30 minutes of special music before each service. The early service music at 6:30 p.m. will feature the Mt. Zion church choir, and the late service music at 9:30 p.m. will feature brass musicians. Both events are traditional candlelight services.

Within Kendallville, St. John Lutheran Church will hold a contemporary service at 5 p.m. in the worship center and a traditional service at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary while First Presbyterian Church will hold a service of lessons and carols at 7 p.m. with a reception after the service.
